On January 19 the first session of the International Technical Assistance Project Management Committee on "Aiding Ukraine in Approximating the EU Regulation in the Environment Field" was held headed by Hanna Vronska, the Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine in European Integration.
The object of session was to discuss the draft Report on the initial period of the project, presented by Arunas Kundrotas, leader of the Project international expert team. The session was also attended by the Deputy Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine - Director of the Government Office for European Integration Nataliya Hnydyuk, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European Integration Vladyslava Rutytska, Acting Head of the State Water Resources Agency of Ukraine Iryna Ovcharenko, Leader of the Environment Sector of the EUAM in Ukraine Oleksandr Klitko as well as by the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Region development, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Economic Development and other concerned central executive authorities and public members with the total of 35 participants.
The session reviewed the project realization plan as well as object and purposes to achieve in the long run. During the session all the participants were able to express their remarks and propositions to the presented document. As a result, the draft Report on the initial period of the project was accepted as the basis on condition of further modification and acceptance of the comments.
Nataliya Hnydyuk pointed out that the Government Office for European Integration will facilitate the project realization and emphasized that the realization should be conducted in synergy with other international projects and the Government efforts in European integration.
At the end of the session a presentation of the EU Water Initiative Programme Manager Peep Mardiste on possible cooperation with other transposition activity projects was given to the attention of the participants.
