The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources delegation headed by the Acting Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Serhii Kurykin visited the Republic of Latvia on December 17-20, 2015 in order to increase the level of cooperation and experience exchange between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia.
The visit included a number of meetings with the Minister of Environmental Protection of Latvia, the Under Secretary for Environmental Protection of Latvia and other government officials. The meetings presented the experience of the Latvian party in waste management, sewage water treatment, water supply, and natural resources conservation system.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian delegation visited the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia, The Latvian Environmental Investment Fund Administration, the Nature Conservation Agency, the GaujaNational Park, a waste processing enterprise, and a tar waste disposal pit.
The working visit to Latvia allowed for studying the experience and the pragmatic angle of the EU Regulations implementation into fields like conservation areas, waste management, water resources management, and wildlife preservation.
