Minister Oleg Proskuriakov met representatives of Shell company in Ukraine

On November, 2013 Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Oleg Proskuriakov together with representatives of the Ministry met delegation of the Shell company headed by the Shell Ukraine Country Chair and General Manager of Shell Ukraine Exploration and Production Graham Tiley.

At the meeting parties discussed current state of implementation of the project on shale gas exploration at consolidated sandstones.

In particular, representatives of Shell company informed about positive results of their work at the first drilled well for the shale gas exploration at consolidated sandstones in Ukraine and notified about their  intentions to drill the second well. The parties also discussed the necessity to adopt the new rules of  procedure for development of the other shale gas deposits. Minister Oleg Proskuriakov said that their comments and suggestions will be taken into account.

Also the Parties discussed procedure of implementation of the project at Uzivs’ka area, where environmental assessment procedures is currently performed.

Therewith, Parties specified the date and place for the Seminar on discussion of the rules of procedure for the development of oil and gas deposits with the engaging of specialists from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine as well as investors in the area of exploration of the natural resources.

Minister asked the companies to establish ecological observation points which can fix the changes in the quality of water, air and pollutant emissions in the process of their activity

Parties give the positive assessment of the result of their current cooperation and expressed their desire to continue collaboration in future.
